Director of Labor Relations and Government Affairs
David Michael González is Director of Labor Relations and Government Affairs for the AICP. The AICP serves as a multi-employer bargaining agent for over 200 signatory production companies, negotiating collectively bargained agreements with the Directors Guild of America (DGA), the International Alliance of Stage and Theatrical Employees (IATSE), and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
In this capacity, David administers the AICP’s nine collectively bargained agreements: three national agreements and six regional agreements. He also works with state and local government agencies and elected officials across the U.S. to ensure that commercial producers have a voice at the table on legislative and regulatory matters affecting physical and postproduction, including tax incentives for production and on-location film permitting.
David represents commercial producers on the Board of Directors of FilmLA, the film office for the City and County of Los Angeles, as well as 15 other municipalities in Southern California; the Film Liaisons in California Statewide (FLICS); the Los Angeles County Business Federation (BizFed) and BizFed Political Action Committee; and is a member of the California Arts Council's Creative Economy Workgroup.
David volunteers with his alma mater as an Admissions Ambassador, assisting with recruitment, application, and yield efforts for Dartmouth College. He also serves as a liturgical minister and catechist for Blessed Sacrament Church, a diverse Catholic community in the heart of Hollywood.
