Campaign budgets are set and paid media is secured. It’s go-time. The brief is ready and now the work begins towards final production. This brief demands real moments and intimate shots that are hard to find and even harder to recreate. This unique Dove-Nike collaboration centered on body confidence and self esteem sets out to find the best footage showing young girls playing sports and educating coaches and leaders on how empathy and understanding are critical aspects to building confidence and grit to push through. The Hard Knocks campaign aired on Super Bowl Sunday in Feb 2024 and has since gained accolades, including numerous Cannes Lion award nominations including securing the 6th highest scoring spot on that Super Bowl Sunday.

In this webinar, we’ll walk through the production challenges with tight deadlines, adhering to budgets and most importantly, delivering the most authentic spot that hit the mark with the clients brand attributes. The campaign called for User Generated Content and footage that could be safely licensed for specific usage, on-time. It was down to the wire and that was the only thing that mattered.

Hard Knocks was a perfect blend of found footage that worked superbly with footage from the agency team’s shoot. What’s more, it was perfectly on-brand for the Dove-Nike collaboration. Super Bowl 2024 attracted record breaking numbers when 124m viewers tuned in to see which football team took home the most coveted US sports trophy, while Dove-Nike grabbed viewer’s attention at a time when women’s sports has become front and center. Hard Knocks shows the importance of taking the hits when you’re knocked down and having the confidence to get back up, move forward and not give up. Nicely done Unilever and Ogilvy.
