EMPLOYMENT ISSUES: Local 52 Tentative Agreement
Late last year, the AICP and Studio Mechanics Local 52 reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year Commercial Agreement for our contract that expired on November 30, 2025.
Terms and conditions of the new Local 52 Agreement, including its effective date, will be announced following ratification of the Agreement by Local 52. New terms and conditions will not be effective until thirty (30) days after written notice of ratification is given to the AICP. As of this writing, the AICP is still awaiting Local 52’s notification.
Until further notice, signatory companies should continue to operate under the terms and conditions of the 2022-2025 Local 52 Commercial Agreement. Notably, the waiver of the Sunday Premium remains continuously in effect for any work performed after December 1, 2025 (i.e., no premium pay is due for work on Sunday, unless such Sunday is a worker’s 6th or 7th workday).
