Co-Founder/Director

Marie Hyon is a co-founder and director at Psyop whose work is defined by emotionally resonant storytelling and sophisticated visual craft. Her work has consistently received top honors from key industry events like Cannes Lions, D&AD, Clios, AICP, and ADC, to name a few. Over the past 26 years, she has built a career grounded in exploration, collaboration, and a deep connection to the creative community from which she draws continuous inspiration.

Her multidisciplinary practice spans narrative film, game cinematics, music videos, and immersive media. Among Marie's notable projects is her collaboration with Riot Games on the League of Legends Worlds anthem music video featuring K-pop sensation NewJeans. The film is an ambitious, anime-influenced piece that brings emotional depth and cinematic scale to the underdog story of esports champion Deft. Her short film and passion project 'Bottle Cap' has also screened internationally to acclaim at leading festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, Annecy, Stuttgart, and Aspen.

Born in Seoul and raised in Brooklyn, Marie studied illustration at Parsons School of Design and began her career as a designer and art director at MTV and Nickelodeon. In 2000, she co-founded Psyop, helping grow it into a globally recognized leader in design-driven narratives. Guided by empathy and curiosity, Marie continues to create work that reveals the human dimension within tales of perseverance, connection, and meaning.
