EMPLOYMENT ISSUES: California Labor Compliance Forms & Best Practices
As an organization, the most important thing that we can do for our members is to provide tools to help them more effectively and efficiently run their businesses. The AICP National Board of Directors asked the AICP West Regional Board to create a working group to collaborate with the Los Angeles office of Ellenoff Grossman & Schole, our General Counsel, to create a set of documents to help the industry better navigate the often-confusing waters of California Labor Code. You can find these documents in the Employment Issues area of aicp.com. The direct link is HERE. Please click here for the full memo to the membership.
AICP is encouraging everyone to spread these forms and best practices to all those in business, regardless of membership status, as familiarity with this guidance will strengthen the entire industry. This first tranche of documents is a great starting place for people to assess their company policies, as well as provide forms and best practices for use in managing their work force.
Special thanks go to the AICP West Board’s California Labor & Employment Best Practices Committee: Alex Hughes, SMUGGLER (AICP West Board President), Sean Moody, Biscuit Filmworks (AICP West Board Vice President and Committee Chairperson); Ena Nicole Abadjian, Anonymous Content; Andrew Colón, SMUGGLER; Marc Marrie, Arts & Sciences; and Quinn Moran, Wrapbook. Thanks also go to Eric Zeiger, Partner, Labor & Employment and Hospitality at EGS, as well as AICP’s David Michael González, Director of Labor Relations, and Ralph Loyola, Manager of Labor Relations.
As new resources become available, we will provide updates. If you have questions about these documents -or any other employment issues - please contact David Michael González at davidg@aicp.com.
