Jay Nelson is an award-winning editor who works in advertising, film and TV. His work has been seen in the Super Bowl over 20 years, crafting spots that repeatedly find their way on top 5 lists year in year out. Reknowned for Grey Poupon's Emmy-nominated “The Chase” (AICP Show Winner for Best Editing). He’s won metal at AICE, LIA, AICP, Cannes as well having edited the 2015 Sundance Festival opening film The Bronze with long time friend Bryan Buckley. A consummate student of all things film, Jay co-wrote & co-edited the acclaimed feature documentary Wild In The Streets and contributed to such films as Stranger than Fiction, World War Z, and Pirates of Somalia starring Al Pacino and Evan Peters which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival. Early in his career Nelson helped create the now iconic PSA “Frying Pan” which launched the career of Rachael Leigh Cook and finds a place in the memory of many generations. In his spare time Nelson is a director of theater and film, while also pursuing his life-long passions of photography, writing and painting. He’s a partner and editor with Cut and Run for over 20 years and devotes his spare time to HopeArrivesInASuitcase, a charity committed to helping kids in foster care get the basic needs for a healthy life and transition
